PCEA Nanyuki Academy

Why this school?

Access to quality education in Kenya is life-changing but many children are forced to drop out because they cannot afford school fees. At PCEA Nanyuki Academy, over 700 students show up each day ready to learn, yet 50 students urgently need scholarships to stay enrolled. Your donation can keep them in the classroom and on a path to a brighter future.

OUR TRUSTED PARTNER: Mary Gatere

We’re proud to partner with Mary Gatere, the head of PCEA Nanyuki Academy and a lifelong advocate for education in rural Kenya. Mary’s passion is deeply personal and she knows what it’s like to watch opportunities slip away.

Mary shares: “I want you to know that it is not just my duty, but truly my joy and life’s dream to keep children in school, especially those who are at risk of dropping out due to financial hardships and to see them through their full educational journey. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream, and I am deeply committed to making that a reality…I promise to lead with integrity, transparency, and full accountability in the use of any funds directed to our school.”

Her leadership and integrity make her one of our most trusted education partners, and her school is making a measurable impact every day.

YOU CAN HELP

Significant Need

Many of the children in our program are facing heartbreaking challenges. Some have lost one or both parents. Others have been abandoned, rescued from unsafe situations, or live in poverty-stricken areas with no stable source of support. Most are being raised by single mothers, grandparents, or guardians doing all they can just to keep food on the table.

Caregivers often rely on informal jobs such as selling clothes, working as house helps, or doing day labor. Their income is unpredictable, and covering school fees is often out of reach. These children want to learn and grow, but without help, they risk dropping out of school simply because of financial hardship.

Your donation can change that.

Scholarship Cost

Scholarships through The Decker Foundation cover tuition for the academic year, daily school meals that keep children nourished and focused, school uniforms (two sets per student), textbooks and essential learning materials.

These scholarships provide more than education. They bring consistency, security, and hope to students who might otherwise be left behind. With your support, they can stay in the classroom, build a brighter future and create generational change.

Why Donate Through The Decker Foundation?

We focus on high-impact education partnerships with schools already doing great work but lacking financial support. We don’t run schools—we strengthen them. By working hand-in-hand with local leaders, we ensure your donations are used transparently and effectively. And thanks to our lean operations, more of your gift goes directly to helping students stay in school.

MAKE A LONG-TERM IMPACT

Your support is more than a donation, it’s an investment in a child’s future. Every scholarship helps a student in Kenya access education, stay in school, and work toward their goals. Join us in changing lives through school scholarships in Africa—one student, one scholarship, one future at a time.
